Learn How To Change Car's Tire

Things Needed -
  • A Leverage pipe.
  • A Chock.
  • An extra tire with air.
  • A jack
  • A rag
  • Flash light
  • Lug-nut Wrench
  • A Screw driver.
How to Do It -
  • The flashers need to be turned on and then safely and gradually pull it off the road. Choose a place away from traffic yet visible.
  • Always open the hood so that the fellow motorist gets an idea that you have fallen into a mechanical distress.
  • To stop the car from rolling, apply hand brakes to it.
  • Take out the trunk and get all the equipments out of it.
  • Take out leverage pipe, a spare tire, lug nut wrench and jack.
  • Do not forget to take out the Flash light if it is getting dark.
  •  The surface may or may not be appropriate and the car may roll despite the hand brakes so chock a large log or rock to make it stable.
  •  If your car has a hub camp that needs to be removed, remove it with the help of a screwdriver.
  •  Then loosen the lug-nuts on the tire that has fallen flat.
  •  After loosing all the lug nuts jack the car, and make sure that the jack should be vertical.
  •  Make sure that the jack is planted on a hard surface, to reduce the risk of any injury.
  •  Never jack the car on dirt or sand because it may slip off causing injuries.
  •  Adjust the jack near each tire as a slot is given there to place the jack. Jack up the vehicle a little more than the requirement. Because the new tire will be large.
  •  Then slightly remove the lug nuts and place them safely in the pocket of your shirt so that you won't loose any nut.
  •  After that take out the flat tire and put it into the trunk.
  • Then put the new tire into the place of the older one, if you do not know the direction of the wheel, check out the pressure of the air valve, as it always faces out.
  • After that it is important to tighten the lug nuts once again. Tighten the nuts using clockwise turning pattern.
  •  After tightening the lug nuts make sure that any other nuts are not loose. Use the leverage pipe to tighten the nuts so that it does not come out easily.
  • After checking the nuts and bolts safely lower the level of the car to remove the jack.
  • Put all the necessary equipments back to place so that you may get it next time as well.
  • Make sure you keep every thing back to place.
  • On your way check out for a tire shop and get the flat tire fixed as it is quite inexpensive.
